The increase in population of Oropesa del Mar during the eighteenth century led to the construction of a new neighborhood outside the walls. The Ravalet.
This well was built to meet the water demand of its inhabitants, since the supply of water for the population was carried out from the cisterns of the castle, in the hands of the lords of the barony.
It has a great patrimonial and ethnological value. In the first place, because it was operational until the middle of the 20th century and because it retains its original structure: a rectangular base of large stones and an arch at the top. It was also not only a place to fetch water, but the centre of social life in the neighbourhood, especially for women.
