How do you imagine the beach of your dreams? A wide expanse of fine golden sand? A small cove surrounded by cliffs? Do you prefer nearby amenities, bars and restaurants and entertainment? Or are you looking for something more secluded and unspoiled? You’re in luck, whatever your preference is, Oropesa del Mar is your answer. There are seven beaches that stretch over twelve kilometres of coastline, some of them classified as accessible beaches, others with a blue flag. They are different beaches, but with three common features: quality, environmental care and accessibility.
You can start wherever you want, but let's go from north to south. First, we find the longest beach of Oropesa del Mar, the Les Amplàries beach, a sandy area of almost two and a half kilometres long accompanied by hotels, campsites, apartments and the Agua Marina Marina d’Or Spa.
The Morro de Gos beach also has fine golden sand, which begins as a quiet and semi-urban beach and, further south, opens up to a magnificent promenade until it reaches the promontory where the cape of Oropesa rises. Behind it is La Concha Beach, which in the form of a bay offers all kinds of services and activities with special attention to children in a sandy area that gives way to calm and shallow waters. Leaving the town centre, you reach the cove of Orpesa la Vella, small and almost an extension of the previous one, separated by a small promontory. And between the outcrop where the first vestiges of Oropesa del Mar and the marina are to be found, you can discover the cove of El Retor, quiet and secluded from crowds.
You are left with the roughest part of the coastline, where access is difficult at some points. La Renegá Beach stands out for the natural environment that surrounds it, full of small coves of sand and uneven rock in which wind and waves have left their mark. Finally, Les Platgetes de Bellver is a small cove surrounded by residential complexes that also has rocky areas nearby.
