Located in the historical heart of the Old Town, the museum is aimed at raising awareness and promoting the importance of our local heritage, within a vibrant space for reflection and learning.
The history and architecture of Oropesa del Mar, with its watchtowers, castle and fortifications, has been influenced over the years by its strategic location between the old public highway and the Mediterranean Sea. Visitors to the Oropesa del Mar Museum are able to experience the rich, military architecture of the town through models, audio-visuals and archaeological finds linking the town’s past, identity and origins.
