On St John's Eve (23 June) the town celebrates an age-old festivity associated with the coming of the summer solstice. In addition to the traditional religious activities, the town offers its traditional fireworks display and bonfires on the beach that each year illuminate the night sky on St John's Eve.
On 29 June we celebrate St Peter's day with the traditional Saint Peter's cake or "Coca de San Pedro" and muscatel wine which is given away to all participants.
